Job summary

The position requires a high school diploma and completion of an OR Technician program, CPR within 3 months, and, ideally, prior CST experience.

Qualifications

• High school graduate with satisfactory completion of an Operating Room Technician program or its equivalent.
• Prefer previous experience as a CST but not required.
• Bi-lingual experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the Operating Room for surgical procedures in a timely fashion, organizing equipment and needed instruments.
• Assists the surgeon as the first or second scrub person during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile field at all times.
• Maintains efficiency in handling surgical instruments at physician’s request and verifies specimens with surgeons and nurses.
• Assists in transporting patients to the OR when necessary and performs decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and distribution procedures per guidelines.
• Operates sterilization equipment and inventories/ distributes supplies, and participates in all cleaning activities per OR standards.
