Job summary

Regional Health Services in Cresco, IA is seeking a patient-focused Surgical Technician to join our operating room team on a PRN basis. Under the direction of a registered nurse, you will assist with surgical procedures and contribute to infectious control and sterile technique.

You will help prepare, operate, and maintain surgical equipment and supplies, support therapeutic, preventive and emergency patient care duties, and communicate effectively under pressure with compassion and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a surgical tech program or minimum of 5 years equivalent work experience in the operating room and Central Sterile.
• Certification from surgical tech training program preferred.
• Computer skills.
• Strong communication skills. Ability to follow instruction under pressure, show compassion and empathy.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a registered professional nurse assists with surgical procedures; including assisting with therapeutic, preventive and emergency patient care duties; and preparation, operation and maintenance of surgical equipment, instruments and supplies.
