Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) seeks a Certified Surgical Technician to join the Menino Operating Room team. The technician will support the surgical team by preparing and sterilizing rooms, transporting patients, passing instruments, and assisting surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses to maintain an aseptic, safe operating environment.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
• Surgical Technician certification is required (unless employed as a surgical technologist prior to 2013).
• Current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and sterilizes operating rooms and equipment.
• Transports patients and assists during procedures by passing instruments.
• Supports surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff with sterile techniques.
• Maintains sterile environment and adheres to safety standards.
