Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) Moakley Operating Room is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician to support the surgical team in outpatient procedures. You will prep and sterilize rooms, transport patients, pass instruments, and assist surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses to maintain a sterile, safe operating environment.

Requires completion of a surgical technology program, certification, and BLS. Eligible for sign-on bonuses of $10,000 or $5,000 based on experience.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Must also be a graduate of an accredited/approved program in surgical technology (or completed an Armed Forces medic or corpsmen program).
• Surgical Technician certification required (unless employed as a surgical technologist in a surgical facility on or before July 1, 2013).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepping and sterilizing rooms and equipment for procedures.
• Transporting patients to and from the operating room and recovery areas.
• Passing instruments and assisting surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other staff during surgery.
• Use sterile techniques to maintain aseptic environment and ensure compliance with sterile standards.
