Job summary

LiveWell Homecare Agency, LLC seeks a Surgical Technician to assist in the OR, handle instruments, sutures and sponges, and maintain aseptic technique under RN supervision. You will prepare for scheduled surgeries by ensuring equipment and supplies are available, maintain a sterile environment, assist with patient transportation and positioning, and participate in training and evaluations.

Strong teamwork and adherence to safety standards are essential, with opportunities for ongoing training

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited surgical technician program or equivalent training/experience.
• Certification by the Association of Surgical Technologists is highly desirable.
• 1-2 years of surgical technician experience preferred.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 5 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all operating procedures by handling surgical instruments, sutures, and sponges, maintaining aseptic technique, and anticipating surgeons’ needs.
• Prepare for scheduled surgeries by ensuring availability of equipment, instruments, and supplies.
• Maintain a sterile and safe OR environment, clean rooms, sterilize equipment, and restock supplies.
• Assist with patient transportation, verification, and positioning for surgeries.
• Support as second circulator under RN supervision, contribute to department policies, and participate in training and evaluations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
