Job summary

Conemaugh Nason Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Technician for the Operating Room. The role supports the surgical team, prepares rooms and instruments, and maintains a sterile environment to ensure patient safety.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and completed surgical technology training. At least six months of prior healthcare experience is preferred; BCLS certification is a plus. This on-site position reports to the Director of Surgery / Operating Room.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists the surgical team in preparing for and performing surgical procedures safely and efficiently.
• Prepares operating rooms, surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures.
• Maintains a sterile environment and follows established infection prevention and safety protocols.
• Anticipates the needs of surgeons and other members of the surgical team during procedures.
• Assists with patient positioning and preparation as appropriate.
• Handles surgical instruments and supplies according to established procedures.
• Collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support positive patient outcomes.
• Follows hospital policies regarding patient safety, confidentiality, and infection control.
