Job summary

Advocate Health is hiring a Surgical Technology professional to support the operating room team. This role requires completing an accredited Surgical Technology program and obtaining BLS within 6 months.

No experience is required, and you will assist in preparing the OR for procedures and passing instruments to surgeons. You will work in a fast-paced environment, focusing on patient safety, aseptic technique, and collaboration with staff across departments.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification within 6 months unless exempt.
• No experience required.
• Knowledge of aseptic surgical techniques and equipment used in the OR.
• Ability to perform duties in a fast-paced, surgical setting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe operating room environment and prepare materials and equipment for procedures.
• Assist surgeons by passing instruments and supplies and maintaining sterile fields.
• Set up operating room, position and transport equipment and patients as needed.
• Report equipment or supply issues to appropriate staff.
• Assist with patient positioning and transferring as required.
• Demonstrate age-appropriate patient care knowledge and safety.
