Job summary

BMCHS in Boston is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician to join the Menino Operating Room (Inpatient Surgery) team. The role supports patient care during procedures by maintaining aseptic standards, prepping and sterilizing rooms, transporting patients, passing instruments, and assisting surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses and staff.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
• Surgical Technician certification is required.
• Active BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and sterilizes operating rooms and supplies.
• Transfers and positions patients for surgery.
• Passes instruments and assists surgeons, anesthesiologists and nurses during procedures.
• Maintains aseptic technique and adheres to sterile standards.
• Communicates effectively with the surgical team.
