Job summary

KAISER in Fremont, California, seeks a Surgical Technician to assist the surgical team before, during, and after procedures and to maintain instruments and equipment for use in the operating room.

The role requires OR experience, basic life support, and ability to handle sterile processing and instrument handling. You will support the team in patient positioning, equipment preparation, and room turnover to ensure safe, efficient surgeries.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year acute Operating Room experience within the past three years or graduation from an approved surgical technician program within the past year.
• High School Diploma/GED.
• Basic Life Support.
• Experience with minimal access, general, ENT, eyes, plastics, orthopedics, vascular, spines, urology, GYN surgeries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain equipment in good working order, inspecting and testing weekly.
• Maintain supply of fluids for use during operation.
• Coordinate configuration of equipment to provide ease of use.
• Place and arrange equipment and supplies in operating room as instructed.
• Check instruments for sterility, cleanliness, and functionality prior to the start of the case.
• Assist with set up and use of equipment during procedures.
