Kaiser Permanente is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the operating room team at Walnut Creek Hospital. The role covers preparation, intraoperative assistance and post-case responsibilities, with emphasis on equipment setup, sterility, and patient safety.

Minimum two years in an acute OR is required; certification in Surgical Technology is preferred. The position requires readiness to train RNs and other staff, with extensive exposure to diverse surgical specialties.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of current acute Operating Room experience.
• Strong experience with minimally invasive, general, ENT, eyes, plastics, orthopedics, vascular, open heart-thoracic, spine, urology, GYN, podiatry, maxillofacial, and neuro surgery specialties.
• Certification in Surgical Technology preferred.-> Senior Surgical Technicians if certified by AOFT/AORN.

Responsabilités

• Assist surgical team before, during, and after surgery.
• Coordinate setup and maintain sterility of equipment and supplies.
• Pass instruments, retractors and assist surgeon as directed.
• Assist with patient positioning, scrubbing and gowning.
• Count sponges, needles and instruments per hospital policy.
• Supervise colleagues and train other technicians as needed.
• Perform room turnover and cleaning duties as required.
