Job summary

Health Wealth Safe is seeking an OR Tech I to join the surgical team in Newark, NJ. Under RN supervision, you will assist during procedures and help maintain sterile fields.

You will scrub for robotics, vascular, neuro/spine, trauma, orthopedics, and other service lines; prepare operating rooms and equipment, monitor safety, and support surgeons and nurses.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Surgical Technician training program.
• 2-3 years of relevant experience.
• Certified Surgical Technician and NBSTSA certification.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, multitasking, and independent working skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing operating rooms and surgical equipment.
• Scrub for a variety of service lines including robotics, vascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic, and trauma cases.
• Ensure adherence to safety and sterilization protocols.
• Support surgeons and nursing staff during procedures.
• Participate in patient care activities as directed.

Job description

The OR Tech I is a vital member of the surgical team, working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to assist during various surgical procedures. They collaborate with surgeons and nurses to deliver optimal patient care before, during, and after surgery, and are responsible for maintaining sterile fields and handling surgical instruments.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing operating rooms and surgical equipment
• Scrub for a variety of service lines including robotics, vascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic, and trauma cases
• Ensure adherence to safety and sterilization protocols
• Support surgeons and nursing staff during procedures
