Montefiore St. Luke's Cornwall in Newburgh, NY seeks an Obstetrical Surgical Technician to support the Birthing Center.

Under RN supervision you will assist with vital signs, personal care, surgical scrub and prep, and help plan equipment for procedures. Candidates need a high school diploma, knowledge of medical terminology, ability to read/write English, completion of a Certified Surgical Technician program, and at least one year experience as PCA or Scrub Tech; surgical technician

Responsibilities

• Perform direct and indirect patient care tasks under RN supervision, including vital signs and personal care.

• Plan and arrange equipment/instruments for patient care procedures.

City/State: Newburgh, New York Department: Birthing Center Bargaining Unit: 1199 Work Days: DAYS VARY Scheduled Hours: 6:45 AM-7:30 PM Scheduled Daily Hours: 12.75 HOURS Hourly Rate/Range: $31.33-$39.61 Sign-On Bonus: N/A For positions that have only a rate listed, the displayed rate is the hiring rate but could be subject to change based on shift differential, experience, education or other relevant factors.

The Obstetrical Surgical Technician performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care tasks under the direction of R.N including but not limited to vital signs, assistance with personal care, surgical scrub and prep. Implements and plans equipment/instruments for patient care procedures.

Education/Training:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Completion of Certified Surgical Technician program.

Experience:

• One year prior experience as PCA or Scrub Tech preferred.

Licensure, Registration or Certification: Surgical Technician Certification required within one year of employment.
