Job summary

Cooper University Health Care in New Jersey is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the Surgical Suite under direct supervision of the Registered Professional Nurse and/or physician. The role requires graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologists program and 1 year of experience is preferred.

American Heart Association BLS certified and NBSTSA credential (or equivalent) are required. Mon-Fri schedule with on-call nights and weekends; annual 15 hours of continuing education are

Short Description

The trained technologist, under the direct supervision of the Registered Professional Nurse and/or physician, is assigned as an assistant to specific service areas in the Surgical Suite.

Experience Required

• 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience preferred

Education Requirements

• Graduate of a nationally or regionally accredited educational program for Surgical Technologists

License/Certification Requirements

• American Heart Association BLS
• Certified Surgical Technologist Credential administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or its successor, or other nationally recognized credentialing organization (e.g. NCCT – National Center for Competency Testing, etc.).

Special Requirements

• Mon-Fri with on-call requirement for nights/weekends
• Must annually complete 15 hours of continuing education to remain qualified to practice as a Surgical Technologist in NJ
