Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress is seeking a Surgical Technologist for PRN roles in Cypress, TX. You will scrub and prep the surgical suite, assist during operations, and collaborate with a skilled team using advanced equipment.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Surgical Technology program or equivalent required.
  • Certification in Surgical Technology.
  • Current BCLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
  • 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Plans for and scrubs assigned surgical procedures in accordance with standards.
  • Participates in on‑call rotation based on department needs.
  • Operates the sterilizer and other patient care equipment per manufacturer instructions after training.
  • Promotes hospital processes and communicates issues to the appropriate person.
  • Assists with updating surgeon preference cards, pulling case carts, stocking rooms, and other duties as assigned.
  • Engages in Quality Improvement to drive high quality performance and results.
  • Sets and achieves personal goals to advance career‑related skills and knowledge.
  • Builds effective relationships across work groups and promotes efficiency and morale.
  • Demonstrates accountability in managing hospital resources.
  • Delivers high quality customer service following ICARE principles.

What you will do in this role:
  • Plans for and scrubs assigned surgical procedures in accordance with AORN, AST, quality, regulatory, and company standards.
  • Participates in on‑call rotation based on the need of the department.
  • Operates the sterilizer and other patient care equipment according to manufacturer’s instructions after proper training.
  • Promotes hospital processes and goals, and communicates issues, whether actual or potential, to appropriate person in the chain of command.
  • Takes initiative in performing other duties, whether assigned or not, such as assisting with updating surgeon preference cards, pulling case carts, stocking rooms, turning‑over the OR, and assisting with scheduled supply inventory.
  • Quality Improvement: Strives for high quality performance and takes initiative to make improvements and deliver results.
  • Personal Achievement: Sets and achieves personal goals to advance career‑related skills, knowledge and abilities and helps others to improve their skills.

What qualifications you will need:
  • Graduate of a Surgical Technology for Surgical Technologist role is required.
  • Certification in Surgical Technology.
  • Current BCLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
  • 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience is Required.
