Job summary

Texas Orthopedic Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Surgical Technologist PRN to join a skilled operating team in Houston. You will prepare the surgical suite, assist during operations, and collaborate with a proactive team using advanced equipment and on-call support to deliver exceptional patient care.

The role requires graduating from a Surgical Technology program, certification in Surgical Technology, current BCLS, and at least 1 year of experience.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Surgical Technology program or military equivalent training in the Surgical Technologist role is required.
  • Certification in Surgical Technology
  • Current BCLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
  • 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience is Required

Responsibilities

  • Setting up and maintaining the surgical suite with instruments, supplies, and advanced equipment to ensure safe, seamless procedures
  • Assisting with patient transport, positioning, prepping, and draping while prioritizing comfort, privacy, and safety
  • Scrubbing in and partnering with the surgical team by providing instruments, handling specimens, and anticipating the team’s needs
  • Monitoring patients and surgical equipment throughout procedures, responding promptly and effectively to any concerns
  • Upholding sterile technique, completing room turnover efficiently, and supporting a high-performing, collaborative team environment
