Job summary

Holy Cross Hospital Jordan Valley seeks a Surgical Tech to support the operating room team under the surgeon and RN. You will organize, sterilize, and inventory instruments and supplies, pass items to the team, and assist with patient preparation and room turnover between cases.

Key requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, BLS, and at least 1 year of surgical experience. Knowledge of sterile technique and strong communication skills are essential for patient safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• BLS certification required.
• Current Surgical Technologist registration is required for employees working in Colorado; UT/KS scope may not require a license.
• One year of experience in a surgical setting.
• Experience in a specialty field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions for procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique throughout the procedure by checking packaging, indicators, and opening procedures.
• Perform counts with circulator before incision and as needed.
• Prepare solutions and medications used.
• Label and report amounts for charting.
• Prepare back table and mayo stand according to the surgeon's preference card.
