Job summary

Holy Cross Hospital Jordan Valley is seeking a skilled Surgical Tech to support the operating room team. You will organize and inventory sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures, pass items to surgeons and nurses, and assist in patient preparation and room turnover.

The role requires strong attention to detail, calmness in fast-paced environments, solid sterile technique knowledge, and effective teamwork and communication within the surgical team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Current registration as a Surgical Technologist required for employees working in Colorado, unless performing Surgical Technologist functions within the scope of another clinical license in the state of employment.
• 1 year of experience in a surgical setting.
• Experience in a specialty field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions for procedure.
• Maintain highest standard of sterile technique during procedure by checking package integrity and opening procedures.
• Perform counts with circulator prior to operation, before incision, and as needed.
• Prepare solutions and medications used.
• Properly labels and reports amounts used for charting.
• Prepare back table and mayo stand to anticipate surgeon’s needs using the preference card.
