Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a skilled Surgical Technician for the Hazleton area to support the operating room team in delivering safe, efficient patient care. The role involves scrubbing for procedures, preparing ORs, and assisting the surgeon with instruments and supplies throughout the operative sequence.

You will maintain the sterile field, perform counts, and ensure all equipment functions correctly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Technical school diploma preferred.
• Surgical technologist certification required.
• Less than 1 year of experience.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates safe conduct of invasive surgical procedures and maintains a safe OR environment.
• Performs surgical counts per policy and organizes case carts for upcoming procedures.
• Collaborates with the OR circulator to prepare the OR and gather sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment.
• Prepares and maintains the sterile field using sterile techniques and ensures equipment is functioning properly and safely.
• Performs in-between case cleaning turnover in the OR suite.
