Job summary

Baylor Medical Center Frisco is hiring an experienced Surgical Tech for our Main OR. The Surgical Technologist scrubs for procedures, maintains a sterile field, and prepares supplies and equipment.

The position supports the surgical team and patient safety, adapts to changing conditions, and collaborates with physicians, nurses, and staff. Strong teamwork and communication skills are required; prior ambulatory surgical center experience is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED; completion of a Surgical Technician Program and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Certification as required by state and/or center
• Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center is strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
• Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
• Strong teamwork and communication to collaborate with staff, engage with patients, and coordinate with physicians

Responsibilities

• The Surgical Technologist scrubs for surgical procedures and demonstrates competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team
• Maintains a sterile field during surgical procedures
• Prepares supplies, instruments, and equipment related to these procedures
• Supports the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Surgery Center
• Supports and participates in quality improvement activities
