Job summary

Piedmont Fayette Hospital in Georgia is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the Operating Room team. The role is part-time with weekend and day shifts, assisting physicians and nurses during surgery across multiple specialties.

The ideal candidate has a HS diploma or GED and completes a Surgical Technology program or is an LPN; 3 years of experience or 10 years if no degree, with BCLS certification. A sign-on bonus up to $5,000 is available.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or LPN program Required.
• 3 years of experience with Surgical Tech Certification Required or 10 years total experience if no degree.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient care by assisting the physician during surgery in the Operating Room for multiple specialties. Functions as a clinical specialist across service lines and acts as a resource.
• Performs technical and some patient care duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities:

Facilitating patient care by assisting the physician during surgery in the Operating Room (OR) for multiple specialties, performing technical and some patient care duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Functions as a clinical specialist across numerous service specialty lines. Assumes additional responsibilities for maintaining surgical specialties as necessary and serves as a resource. Functions on a more global level and is more involved in detailed surgical endeavors related to the surgery department.

Qualifications:

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or LPN program Required

Work Experience

• 3 years of expereince and Surgical Tech Certification Required or
• In lieu of degree 7 years of experience can be substituted for certification for a total requirement of 10 years of Surgical Tech experience. Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and
• LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure Current GA LPN License, if applicable Upon Hire Required orCST - Certified Surgical Technologist Upon Hire Required
