Job summary

Piedmont Fayette Hospital is seeking a part-time Surgical Technician to assist in the Operating Room during weekend and day shifts. You will support physicians during surgery across multiple specialties and work under RN supervision to ensure patient safety and care.

Ideal candidates have a Surgical Technology credential or LPN background, with at least several years of related experience and current BCLS certification.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of Surgical Technology Program or LPN program required.
• 3 years of expereince and Surgical Tech Certification Required or in lieu of degree 7 years of experience can be substituted for certification.

Responsibilities

• Facilitating patient care by assisting the physician during surgery in the Operating Room (OR) for multiple specialties.
• Functions as a clinical specialist across numerous service specialty lines.
• Assumes additional responsibilities for maintaining surgical specialties as necessary and serves as a resource.

Functions as a clinical specialist across numerous service specialty lines. Assumes additional responsibilities for maintaining surgical specialties as necessary and serves as a resource. Functions on a more global level and is more involved in detailed surgical endeavors related to the surgery department.

Qualifications

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and


• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or LPN program Required

Work Experience

• 3 years of expereince and Surgical Tech Certification Required or


• In lieu of degree 7 years of experience can be substituted for certification for a total requirement of 10 years of Surgical Tech experience. Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and


• LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure Current GA LPN License, if applicable Upon Hire Required or


• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Upon Hire Required
