Job summary

Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego is seeking a Surgical Technologist for a full-time, 12-hour evening shift at the Hillcrest campus. Start times include 8:30 am or 10:30 am, with retention and relocation incentives offered.

Join our OR team to ensure rooms are ready, maintain sterile fields, scrub for cases, position and transport patients, and support rapid turnover. Current BLS is required; CST certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• One year of recent Surgical Technologist experience or completed accredited training.
• Current BLS from the American Heart Association.
• Excellent communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure OR rooms are ready for surgery with sterile supplies and equipment.
• Monitor sterile field throughout procedures.
• Scrub for cases and anticipate the needs of the physician and operating team.
• Position and transport patients; assist with room turnover and decontamination as needed.

• Ensure OR rooms are ready for surgery, including all case-specific supplies and equipment are sterile and ready for use.
• Monitor sterile field throughout procedure.
• Scrub for cases, anticipate the needs of the physician and operating team.
• Position and transport patients.
• Organize room cleanup and ensure efficient room turnover, including decontaminating equipment as necessary.

*Retention Incentive of $4K and $3K relocation incentive (100+ miles away).

• Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter)
• Must remain in original department/specialty

• Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• One (1) year of recent experience as a Surgical Technologist or completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist training program.
• Current BLS from the American Heart Association
• Excellent communication skills. Basic computer skills. Able to multi-task and work well in a team environment. Detail oriented and able work well in a fast-paced, high stress environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years' experience
• CST Certification
• Level 1 trauma experience
• Strong in neuro, spine, ortho
