Job summary

Sharp HealthCare in San Diego is hiring a Surgical Technologist to facilitate safe and efficient invasive procedures. You will prep the OR, maintain sterile technique, and assist surgeons during cases.

This role requires certified competencies and a commitment to patient safety. Eligible candidates should have 3 years of hospital surgical tech experience, BLS certification, and CST/CSFA/NCCT certification or equivalent.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience as a surgical technologist in a hospital setting.
• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) certification is required.
• Certified Surgical Technologists (CST) or NBSTSA CSFA, or NCCT TS-C certification (or equivalent) required.

Responsibilities

• Clinical practice: manage instrument trays, ensure sterility, set up sterile field, pass instruments to surgeon.
• Problem resolution: identify deviations, report patient safety issues, participate in teaching and mentoring.
• Quality care: anticipate needs, select cases using physician preference cards, assist with dressing and cast applications, maintain sterile technique.
