Job summary

Sharp HealthCare in San Diego is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join our operating room team. You will assist surgeons by preparing patients, ensuring equipment and supplies are ready, and maintaining a sterile field to support safe procedures.

This full-time role requires a minimum of three years of hospital experience, AHA BLS, and CST/CSFA/NCCT TS-C certification. Shift is 10 hours with 6:30 AM start; on-call and weekend as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent GED OR Other Completion of an approved program for Operating Room Technicians or equivalent training and experience.
• Minimum of three (3) Years Experience as a surgical technologist in a hospital setting.
• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare)
• Certified Surgical Technologists (CST) OR NBSTSA Certified Surgical First Assistants (CSFA) OR Tech in Surgery - Certified (NCCT), TS-C (NCCT) -REQUIRED
• Robotic Surgery experience
• General Surgery experience
• ENT Surgery experience
• Plastic Surgery experience
• Vascular Surgery experience
• Surgical Assisting experience

Responsibilities

• The Surgical Technologists will use their expertise to serve and directly support surgeons by helping to prepare the patient upon arrival to the operating room.
• Reviews that appropriate equipment and supplies are ready for the surgical procedure while coordinating with surgical staff.
• They will work to help ensure that the operating room is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety while maintaining the integrity of the sterile field.
• Scrubs in and provides specific hands on support during surgical procedure upon direction of the surgeon.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent GED OR Other Completion of an approved program for Operating Room Technicians or equivalent training and experience.

Minimum of three (3) Years Experience as a surgical technologist in a hospital setting.
