Job summary

Kaiser Permanente Irvine is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician to assist during surgery as a scrub technician under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician.

Responsibilities include maintaining the sterile field, passing instruments, and supporting the surgical team; requires two years of OR scrubbing experience and formal surgical technologist training. Note: float between Irvine and Anaheim centers as needed.

Qualifications

• Two years operating room scrubbing experience in the last three years.
• Graduate of an approved surgical technologist program.
• National certification or licensure as a Surgical Technologist (or equivalent).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification currently active.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon during procedures as scrub technician.
• Maintain sterile field and proper instrument handling.
• Pass instruments, cut sutures, hold retractors, and assist with specimen handling.
• Provide patient and team support and report concerns to the RN.
