MemorialCare Saddleback Medical Center in Laguna Hills, CA, is seeking a Surgical Technician II for the Evening shift. This part-time role supports the Surgery Services department, assists with instrument maintenance, aseptic technique, and patient flow under RN/MD supervision.

The minimum qualifications include CST certification, 2 years acute care surgical tech experience (or 10 years if CST is not held), scrubbing multiple specialties, and proficiency in medical terminology.

Qualifications

• Proficient in scrubbing a minimum of 4 specialties.
• 2 years acute care surgical technician experience and CST surgical scrub technician certification required, OR 10 years acute care surgical technician experience required.
• Computer, internet, order entry and word processing experience preferred.
• Proficient in medical terminology.

Responsabilités

• Safely and competently perform all aspects of surgical techniques/procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of the clinical information system and apply it to patient documentation.
• Serve as a role model and assist new staff or students.
• Preceptor for new employees/students in the scrub role.
• Protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality of all sensitive material.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient-family expectations.
• Demonstrate tact, sensitivity and discretion.
• Integrate knowledge of job-specific competencies.
• Be punctual and able to follow policies and directives.
• Fulfill on-call requirement of the department.
• Prioritize and multitask.
