Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Surgical Technologist for a full-time role in the Pittsburgh area. A sign-on bonus is available based on eligibility and experience, with tiered amounts for different experience levels.

The position involves preparing the operating suite, maintaining aseptic technique, assisting with patient setup, and ensuring correct patient and site requirements. Strong attention to detail and CPR certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum one-year certificate from a college or technical school, or three to six months related training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferred 1–3 years of Surgical Technologist experience.
• CPR certification as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setting up the surgical operating suite with instruments and supplies.
• Utilize proper aseptic techniques and follow standard precautions; handle medications and specimens as required.
• Assist with preparing, positioning and draping patients and participate in the surgical pause to confirm patient and site.
• Understand and adapt to surgeon preferences and update related materials.
• Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts.
• Care for and utilize resources to promote cost effectiveness and efficiency for patients.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
