Job summary

Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh is seeking a Surgical Technologist for a full-time role to support operating room teams before, during, and after procedures. The position offers a sign-on bonus based on eligibility and experience, with amounts varying by years of service.

You will prepare the suite, maintain sterile technique, assist with patient positioning and instrument counts, and help update surgeon preference materials.

Qualifications

• Accredited Surgical Technologist program completion and CST/TS-C certification within 6 months of hire
• 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience preferred
• CPR certification within 60 days of hire (AHA)

Responsibilities

• Assists in setting up the surgical operating suite with instruments and supplies.
• Maintains aseptic technique and follows standard precautions; adheres to medication and specimen handling policies.
• Assists with preparing, positioning and draping patients and participates in the surgical pause to ensure correct patient and site.
• Adapt to surgeon preferences and patient care variables; contributes to updating surgeon preference materials.
• Performs sponge, needle, and instrument counts.
• Cares for and utilizes resources to promote cost-effective and efficient patient care environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
