Qualifikationen

• 1-3 years of experience as a Surgical Technician or First Assist in an acute care setting required

Aufgaben

• Scrub person during surgical procedures; organize sterile supplies and provide instruments to the surgical team.
• Perform first assistant duties: exposure through instrument handling, retractors, suction, and sponging as directed by the surgeon.
• Handle and dissect tissues, clamp vessels, coagulate bleeding points, and place drains as instructed by the surgeon.
• Assist with wound closure; suture subcutaneous layers and skin, apply staples, and dress surgical sites per surgeon instructions.
• Ensure sterility and safety; perform counting procedures with the RN circulator; follow infection control protocols.
• Prepare and transport surgical instruments for decontamination; ensure proper handling and sterilization.
• Assist in post-procedure room turnover; prepare procedural areas for subsequent surgeries.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
