Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience as a Surgical Technician or First Assist in an acute care setting required.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a scrub person during procedures, preparing sterile supplies and instruments.
• Performs first assistant duties with exposure, retractors, suctioning, and sponging as directed.
• Handles tissues, clamps vessels, coagulates bleeding, and places drains as instructed.
• Assists with wound closure and dressing per surgeon instructions.
• Ensures sterility and safety, following infection control protocols.
• Prepares instruments for decontamination and transport for sterilization.
• Assists in post-procedure turnover and room readiness.
• Maintains regular attendance and complies with policies.
