Job summary

Mercy Health – Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY seeks a Certified Surgical Tech First Assist to support surgeons and nurses in the OR. You’ll prepare the operating room, gather supplies, and maintain aseptic technique throughout procedures. This role requires at least one year of experience, an accredited Surgical Technology credential, and certification in CST/TC or NBSTA.

BLS is preferred. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and contribute to safe, high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree, Vocational Certification, or Military Certificate in Surgical Technology is required.
• One year of experience as a Surgical Technologist is required.
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred upon hire; must be certified CST/NBSTA/TS-C/NCCT.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique and operating room procedures.

Responsibilities

• Functions as the scrub person and assists the provider during operative procedures.
• Prepares sterile supplies and instruments and performs counts with the circulating RN.
• Maintains an organized sterile field and ensures sterility throughout the case.
