Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech First Assist at Lourdes Hospital in Kentucky. You will assist surgeons and nurses with operating room setup, aseptic technique, and instrument handling to support patient care in a fast-paced surgical environment.

The role requires an accredited Surgical Technology credential, CST/NBSTA/TS-C/NCCT certification, and at least one year of experience as a surgical technologist, with BLS preferred.

Qualifications

• One year of experience as a Surgical Technologist (required).
• Associate's degree, Vocational Certification, or Military Certificate in Surgical Technology (required).
• Must be certified by CST/NBSTA/TS-C/NCCT (required).
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred; must obtain prior to direct patient care).

Responsibilities

• Functions as the scrub person and may assist the provider during procedures.
• Prepares sterile supplies and instruments and performs surgical counts.
• Maintains an organized sterile field and assists with aseptic technique.
• Retrieves and labels specimens; reports implants and devices.
• Provides instruments and supplies to the surgical team during procedures.
