Job summary

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Successful completion of Surgical Technology training program; or Orlando Health training program.
• Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

• Reviews preference and verifies case cart completely prior to case.
• Maintains an orderly surgical field and passes instruments and supplies quickly and efficiently to the surgeon.
• Anticipates and prioritizes the needs of the procedure steps.
• Participates in sponge, needle and instruments counts as dictated by the procedure.
• Maintains surgical specimens for pathology evaluation.
• Assists in ordering and stocking specialty supplies under management guidance.
• Transports and delivers items, equipment, and medications throughout the facility (excluding controlled substances and IV chemotherapy).
