Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• NJ requirements under the Surgical Technologist law to be considered for this opportunity.
• BLS is required.
• 6 months OR experience is strongly preferred.
• Must be a graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech Program and a Certified Surgical Tech.
• National certification is preferred.
• Must be self-starter who works well independently.
• Time management and prioritizing skills a must.
• Ability to multi task.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties under the direction of the Registered Professional Nurse.
• Provides sterile instruments and supplies to Surgeons throughout surgery.
• Accurately completes assignments within scheduled time periods with supervision.
• Communicates pertinent patient information to the registered nurse.
• Adapts to changes in workload or patient assignments with supervision.
• Assists with reassignments to meet patient care needs and floats as needed.
• Maintains sterility of the field and supports safe patient care.
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives.
• Performs duties with professional ethics and compliance.
• Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
• Adheres to organizational competencies and standards.
