Job summary

Hudson Regional Health in Hoboken, NJ is seeking an Operating Room/Surgical Technician to prepare sterile environments and assist surgical teams. You will set up instruments, maintain asepsis, and support turnover and patient safety throughout procedures.

The role requires CST certification, BLS, and strong communication; prior OR experience is preferred. This is a full-time day-shift position with on-call responsibilities in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited surgical technology program is required.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Prior OR experience preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong teamwork and customer service orientation with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile drapes as per procedure requirements.
• Assist surgeons and nurses by passing instruments and sterile supplies; anticipate needs.
• Maintain aseptic technique and infection control throughout all procedures.
• Inspect and ensure proper functioning of instruments and equipment; report malfunctions.
• Manage inventory and restock supplies to prevent delays; assist in cleaning and sterilization post-procedure.
• Document procedures and maintain instrument counts for patient safety.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support efficient OR turnover and safety.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
