• Prepares equipment and instruments on the back table using sterile technique.
• Counts sponges and sharps with circulating RN.
• Assists surgeon with gowning, gloving, draping, and instrument handling during procedures.
• Cuts suture material as directed and assists with tissue handling as directed by surgeon.
• Maintains sterile field throughout the procedure and applies dressings on completion as applicable.
• May assist as second circulator in room and update preference cards.
