Job summary

Northwest Medical Center Sahuarita is seeking a Surgical Technician to join the operating room team on a full-time day shift. This role collaborates with the surgeon and perioperative staff to deliver high-quality patient care, maintain sterile fields, and ensure instruments and supplies are ready for procedures.

The ideal candidate has surgical technology training or an associated degree, BCLS certification, and up to 2 years of OR experience.

Qualifications

• Technical School graduate of Surgical Technology or Practical Nursing program required.
• Associate Degree in Surgical Technology or Applied Sciences required.
• 0-2 years of operating room surgical technician experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains the operating room for surgical cases, ensuring equipment and supplies are ready.
• Passes instruments to the surgeon quickly and accurately during procedures.
• Sterilizes, inspects, and assembles surgical instruments and equipment.
• Performs sponge, needle, and instrument counts with the circulating nurse for patient safety.
• Assists in patient positioning, draping, and transfers during procedures.
• Restocks supplies and prepares rooms for subsequent cases.
