MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center is seeking a surgical technologist for day shifts in Mason City, IA. The role prepares the operating room, instruments procedures, maintains sterile fields, and supports the circulating nurse in patient care.

Requirements include graduation from a surgical technologist program (or LPN with surgical experience), certification, BLS, and at least 2 years of experience. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered along with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a surgical technologist program is required, or graduate of an LPN program with Surgical experience.
• Certification as a surgical technologist required.
• LPN license required if graduate of LPN program.
• Must have at least 2 years of experience functioning as a Surgical Tech.
• Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) via current card before employment or within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists the circulating nurse in assessing the patients' needs and helps to develop and implement the plan of care.
• Provides care to all surgical patients in accordance with the operating room's performance standards and AORN Standards.
• Assists in setting up rooms and secures safe transport of the patient.
• Confirms correctness of the surgical site and manages the sterile field.
• Develops and maintains knowledge/skills in all surgical specialties.
