MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Technologist to prepare the operating room for cases, maintain asepsis, and assist the surgeon and circulating nurse throughout procedures. The role requires certification, 2+ years of surgical tech experience, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a surgical technologist program or LPN with surgical experience.
• Certified as a surgical technologist.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Tech.
• Current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assists the circulating nurse in assessing the patients' needs and helps to develop and implement the plan of care.
• Provides care to all surgical patients in accordance with standards and policies.
• Sets up rooms and prepares the pre-operative site and instruments.
• Maintains sterile field and assists with specimen handling during cases.
• Identifies changes on surgeons' preference cards and supports efficient OR turnover.
