Job summary

Herzing University is seeking a Faculty Clinical Coordinator for Surgical Technology at its Hialeah campus to oversee clinical sites, preceptors, and accreditation compliance. The role requires coordinating site contracts, scheduling, and hands-on instruction to ensure program outcomes are met.

Ideal candidates hold an associate degree (bachelor preferred), national certification in surgical technology, and at least 3 years of OR scrub or teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited education program in surgical technology and national certification.
• Minimum 3 years of OR scrub or instructional experience within the last 5 years.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with students, alumni, faculty, and employer partners.
• Experience teaching hands-on skills to surgical technologists or students.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Knowledge of programmatic accreditation standards (CAAHEP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and monitor clinical sites; maintain credentialing and contract documentation.
• Visit clinical sites at least once each rotation to ensure quality experiences.
• Coordinate clinical schedules and evaluate student learning experiences.
• Place students for internship/practicum assignments.
• Advise program administrator on trends, statistics, and site availability.
• Provide recommendations on clinical competency and facility policies.
• Assist with course planning and faculty development.
• Support campus decision-making processes and advisement on clinical expectations.
