Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a related discipline; Bachelor's preferred.
• Graduate of a surgical technology education program accredited by a national programmatic agency (CAAHEP).
• Credential in surgical technology through a national cert program (NCAA).
• At least 3 years of operating room scrub or instructional experience in surgical technology within the last 5 years.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with students, alumni, faculty and partners.
• Experience teaching hands-on skills to new surgical technologists or students.

Responsibilities

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of practice trends and accreditation standards.
• Identify, contract with, monitor, and evaluate clinical sites; maintain site documentation.
• Visit clinical sites at least once per rotation to ensure quality.
• Establish clinical schedules and evaluate student clinical learning experiences.
• Place students for internships/practicum assignments with appropriate sites.
• Advise program administrator on industry trends; performance and site availability.
