The OB Technician role requires assisting during vaginal and cesarean deliveries under physician and nurse supervision. You will help set up the operating room, prep and transport patients for surgery, adjust lights/equipment, and hand instruments to surgeons in a fast-paced OB setting.

Must have 1 year as a surgical tech or completed surgical tech program, plus BLS. Night shifts are 3x12 hours over a 13-week duration, with 12-hour shifts (6:45 PM–7:15 AM) and OB tech experience is essential.

Description:The OB Technician assists other members of the healthcare team in the delivery of patient care during the intra-operative period.The major focus for this position is on assisting during vaginal and/or cesarean deliveries under the supervision of physicians and registered nurses.The OB Technician may help set up the operating room, prepare and transport patients for surgery, adjust lights and equipment, pass instruments and other supplies to surgeons and surgical assistants, hold retractors, and help count sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments.This individual must also have basic knowledge of medical terminology, the metric system, and aseptic technique.This knowledge should be applied in all patient and family interactions.Skills required for this position include surgical tech experience, medical terminology, knowledge of the metric system, aseptic technique, and experience in an operating room setting.
