Job summary

Description:The position requires work in the Operating Room.Certifications required include BLS and UAP.Military education is not recognized for state certification requirements.There is no clinical involvement expected in this role.Fit testing is required for clinicians with facial hair.All candidates must be able to pass a fit test; otherwise, contract may be canceled.The Operating Room consists of 6 ORs and 1 GI suite.Common cases include adult, pediatric, geriatric, and obstetric surgeries.Orthopedic cases include total joints, ORIF, and arthroscopy.OB/GYN cases include Cesarean sections and diagnostic laparoscopy.General cases include laparoscopic appendectomies and cholecystectomies.Experience with C-arm, Mako robot, ligasure, and harmonic scalpel is advantageous.There is no charge nurse assigned on each shift.The schedule consists of 9-hour shifts from M-Th.Self-scheduling is allowed.Call shifts occur 1-2 times per week as needed.Weekend shifts require 1 weekend per month from Friday to Monday.There may be floating requirements based on prior training in other areas.Scrub color and dress code will be provided.The orientation will consist of 1-2 shifts specific to the unit.Candidates must be within a 50-mile radius and may not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any associated facilities.Requests for time off must be submitted upfront, and additional requests will not be approved.Clients can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, with different rules for shorter assignments.The charting system used is MEDITECH.This is a position in an acute care setting.
