Job summary

Baptist is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the OB/GYN team by preparing sterile setups, passing instruments, and maintaining equipment during procedures. This role assists in labor and delivery suites, moves patients, and contributes to clean and organized operating environments.

Candidates must be graduate from an accredited surgical technology program with national certification; BLS within 14 days of hire and CPR are required, with 20 hours of continuing education annually and

• Assists in providing intraoperative care and deliveries.

• Performs activities that demonstrate technical accountability.
• Participates in ongoing educational activities.
• Completes assigned goals.

Job description

Assists team during delivery or operation/procedure by arranging, inventorying and maintaining sterile set up as indicated for procedure, and passes items as needed. Also, assists in preparation of labor and delivery/surgical suite, moving patients, and in cleaning. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

• Skill in communicating clearly and effectively using standard English in written, oral, and verbal format to achieve high productivity and efficiency. Skill to write legibly and record information accurately as necessary to perform job duties.

Training

• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technologists. National certification as a surgical technician.
• 20 Hours of continuing education annually

Special Skills

• Be a member of a professional organization.

Licensure

• BLS CERTIFICATION WITHIN 14 DAYS OF HIRE
• CPR
• Hold current national certification through appropriate/approved accreditation body or five (5) years of previous cardiovascular surgery experience.
