Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System is seeking an Operating Room Assistant to work under the supervision of a RN in a busy surgical unit. You will provide direct patient care, prepare the OR, and assist with positioning, sterile technique, and room turnover.

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
• Requires BLS healthcare provider training.

Responsibilities

• Assist with placing patient in designated surgical positions.
• Monitor patient positioning and traction devices as appropriate.
• Verify integrity of sterile packaging and sterilization indicators.
• Open sterile supplies and instruments using aseptic technique.
• Assist with room turnover and aseptic practices.
• Maintain OR supply inventory and linen.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
