Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake is seeking a Surgical Stepdown Registered Nurse to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in alignment with nursing standards. You will collaborate with medical providers, care teams, and families to ensure outstanding patient outcomes and safety.

Responsibilities include planning and evaluating care for assigned patients, telemetry assessment, and maintaining a supportive, educational environment for patients and families.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing is required.
• BSN is required.
• Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date).
• Current BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
• ACLS Certification (American Heart Association) required within 6 months of hire
• 1-year of clinical Med Surg experience as a licensed RN in an acute care setting required.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for assigned patients.
• Participates in activities to plan, measure, assess and improve the quality of patient care.
• Assume the responsibility of charging the unit, as needed.
• Assessment of patient with telemetry monitoring.
• Maintaining customer friendly atmosphere.
• Model and reinforces behavior consistent with goals for teaching the patient, communicates patient status to appropriate member of the healthcare team, and provides support to the family, as needed.

Education
