Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Inpatient Rehab unit. This role focuses on assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care, with a 3-day-per-week schedule from 7p to 7a and rotating weekends.

The RN will collaborate with the rehab team, manage unit operations, educate patients and families, and handle admission paperwork. Texas RN license, BLS, and 1 year rehab nursing experience are required; BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing is required; BSN is preferred.
• Current Texas RN license or Multi-State (Compact) license; must obtain Texas license within 90 days of hire.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• 1 year of clinical Rehab experience as a licensed RN required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for assigned patients.
• Manage unit staffing, supplies and equipment per Standards of Practice.
• Participate in quality improvement activities to measure and improve patient care.
• Instruct patients and families regarding disease processes.
• Complete admission paperwork specific to the Rehabilitation Unit.
• Participate in weekly patient care conferences as needed.
• Assume responsibility for charging the unit as needed.
