Job summary

Boston Medical Center seeks a Registered Nurse for the Surgical Step-Down IMCU, a 38-bed unit delivering post-operative and specialty surgical care. The role emphasizes patient-centered care within a supportive nursing organization and opportunities for training and growth.

The RN will provide care in the Critical Care unit, communicate with the care team and families, update records, and participate in quality improvement projects.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN license required.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience preferred.
• BLS certification; ACLS in certain units.
• Degree in Nursing (Diploma/ASN/BSN) or equivalent; BSN preferred within 4 years.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the Critical Care unit, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and education.
• Communicate with health care team members, patients and families.
• Coordinate and delegate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records.
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
• Follow nursing guidelines and policies.
• Assist leadership in quality improvement projects.
