Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent, and clinical training with medical supplies, equipment and instruments.
• Demonstrated training as a Surgical Technician; certification required within 2 years of hire or grandfathered status accepted.

Responsibilities

• Assist the circulating nurse with operating room setup and sterile item handling.
• Perform scrub duties, gowning and gloving, instrument counts and set-ups.
• Assist in transport, transfer and positioning of the surgical patient.
• Anticipate the surgeon's needs and maintain an organized sterile field.
• Uphold patient safety policies and preserve confidentiality.
