Job summary

Penn State Health Medical Group in Reading, PA seeks a Surgical Services Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join a dynamic surgical team. The APP will support perioperative and inpatient care with daytime and overnight coverage across ACS, General Surgery, and subspecialties.

Responsibilities include rounds, first assistance, pre/postoperative care, discharge planning, and cross-coverage for urgent needs within a 24/7 model. Collaboration with surgeons and staff is essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• National certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse.
• Current PA CRNP license with the Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners.
• Two years of RN work experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient rounding, surgical first assistance, and ACS consultations.
• Preoperative/postoperative care and discharge planning.
• Coordinate care across multidisciplinary teams for timely decisions.
• Overnight cross-coverage for surgical services and emergency needs.

Education

Master’s Degree in Nursing

National certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse

Current license to practice as CRNP by Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners

Two (2) years' work experience as an RN

Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
